What is Music Coaching?
Music Coaching is personalized guidance to help you reach your specific musical goals.
In contrast to traditional lessons, these lessons are not live. Rather, the instruction and student-teacher interaction happens via email.
How does it work?
After an initial assessment to explore what you already know and what you want to learn, I send you a customized lesson. Each lesson will teach a skill, and might include a video, sheet music, and/or written explanations, etc, as appropriate for the topic at hand. There will be one or more specific action items provided for you to play, practice, and master.
You can ask questions by email, and send me recordings so that I can provide feedback.
I have found this unconventional and innovative method of music coaching to be very effective and a great option for people who are past the beginner stage. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have!

I play an instrument other than piano. Can you still help me?
Yes!
While I may not be able help you with the technical aspects of your instrument, I can coach you to approach your playing from a different angle than you have before. Some examples include playing accompaniment (even on instruments that play only one note at a time), improvising a solo, playing harmony, transposing a song to a different key, playing by ear etc.
